So, if you’ve just started your business, or even had it for a short while. Do you know how to market it? Let me take you through some steps that will help you. Talking from experience and also what has helped me.
HOW DO I MARKET MY BUSINESS?
So, who are you targeting? This is part of your overall strategy. You need to know what your Customers want, when and how they buy? What would make them decide to go with your product?
WHO ARE YOU TARGETING?
Who are the Customers you want to attract? Where do they live? How old are they? And how much do they earn? What do they do?
You’ve got to have some insight as to who your Customer is
WHY SHOULD CUSTOMERS BUY FROM YOU?
How would your Clients benefit from your service?
How do you describe your business to people you meet?
Why would your Clients choose you instead of someone else?
WHERE SHOULD YOU MARKET YOUR BUSINESS?
How do you reach out to potential Clients?
You have so many options to choose from. The obvious first option would be a website as 85% of people look online first before anywhere else!
Then you could make flyers, business cards, word of mouth, social media and of course blogging. There are lots of ideas out there, but these are just a few of the ones that I have started with that is sure to get you up and running.
KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR SPEND
Have an excel document that keeps track of how much you are spending and what you are spending on. Remember when your business takes off, do not be tempted to dip into that money just yet. It needs to build up and that could take a year or two.
SERVICE IS KEY!
Build such good relationships with you Clients that they keep coming back for more!
It is really difficult to find businesses out there that actually put effort into this. Ordering a cup of coffee hardly comes with a smile these days. Shocking really. And you wonder how these businesses sustain themselves.
They don’t even see it coming but its like a slow disease that starts eating up at you, eventually they succumb to it, and then its too late to do anything about it…. sad. Yet that genuine smile would keep me going back every morning for that cup of coffee
Follow up is crucial as it shows that you actually care. Do something extra over and above what is expected of you and create that Wow moment.
Listen to your Clients and deliver on time.
This is the easiest part of your business and reaps tons of rewards in the end.
So personally, I feel that its key to maintain a presence of your business in whatever way you are marketing it. Be consistent, and don’t give up. Have a marketing planner where you plan on which days and at what times you will promote your business. This takes perseverance and consistency.
Your business will succeed with consistency and planning……I am in the process of using these steps. Remain optimistic and have a vision. Where do you see your business in two to five years?
If you have that picture in mind….it will become your reality.
Good Luck to us!
